Infrequently Asked Questions (IAQ)

Almost every website has a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) page.

Since I receive very few questions from visitors to “The YoungOnce Place” website, these are not frequently asked questions. The following are some of the Infrequently Asked Questions (IAQ):

Why I started "The YoungOnce Place?.
Many of my retiree friends used to lug heavy volumes of photo albums to the Singapore Airport where most retired people meet. It was a customary way to "break the ice" among strangers by showing photos of their young days. Happy memories flash, recollections, travel tales...and their days of retirement was filled with the talk of the day as each new member of the "Retiree Club" share their "youngonce" journey in photos. I then decided to create a "virtual meeting place" for the "youngonce" here.

What is this “ YoungOnce Place ” all about? .
It is a fun place where the photo of the contributor, more often than not, do not match the present physical appearance of the person in real life. It is a place to visualise, to reflect with the aid of your 'youngonce' photos.

Obviously, the memorable moments originally captured in the photos could not be recreated. The past is like a moment of magic which disappears at the "blink of an eye", figuratively speaking. If you have captured those moments of joy and carefree times in photos, please post them to the YOP Gallery for posterity and to share with others.

"Growing old is a necessary stage in everyone's life if they could live long enough to experience it." This is a stark, hard-hitting statement. We can only be young once in this lifetime.

I don't want people to recognize me from my photo.
You may use a fictitious name or nickname. No personal details will be published.

Do I have to submit my original printed photo?
Contributors are encouraged to submit scanned photo in digital format.

I am a bodybuilder. Can I submit my topless photo?
Tough question huh! If you are male, yes. Sorry, topless female photos will not be published as this is a family-friendly website; not an adult website. Offensive photos will be rejected and returned to the contributor.

Who has the copyright to the photo?
The contributor is the rightful owner of the printed photo. If the photo is submitted on behalf of the contributor, it is assumed that it is with the knowledge and permission of the contributor. Printed photo will not be retained.

Can I stop the display of my photos in the YOP Gallery after submission?
Yes. The photos will be removed from the Gallery within a reasonable time at the request of the contributor.

Is there a discussion forum at the YOP?
Discussion forum is not available at "The YoungOnce Place".
